Driven by the viral success of their online cover of Drake’s “Headlines,” VanJess—composed of sisters Ivana and Jessica Nwokike—began their career as an R&B duo in 2011.
∙ Their feature on KAYTRANADA’s 2019 single “Taste” marked their first appearance on a Billboard chart, reaching No. 24 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs list in 2020.
∙ Following the success of the 2021 LP Homegrown, Young Hollywood included VanJess in their ARTISTS TO WATCH series.
∙ In 2021, Fader added Homegrown to their 9 Albums You Should Stream Now list, alongside releases by such artists as The Weeknd and Hayley Williams.
