A resident act on Astro’s carnival tours in the mid-‘00s, Hazama found stardom after winning Akademi Fantasia 9 in 2011. His music is an unapologetic throwback to rock kapak—with a modern pop-rock sheen—and his videos pack dramatic storylines like the very best ‘80s music videos. In fact, the singer is one of only three acts to collaborate in concert with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, alongside icons Hattan and Azlan & The Typewriter. Throughout the course of a wide-ranging career that has taken him from the singing competition stage to the big screen, Hazama has proven his enduring appeal as an authentic rock vocalist.
