Formed in 2012 by ex-Ooberman members Sophia Churney and Dan Popplewell, Liverpool, England's Magic Theatre specialize in 1960s-infused, highly cinematic, story-driven baroque pop worthy of their enchanting moniker. The duo issued their debut long-player, the robust and opulent time-travel love story London Town, in 2010 via Cargo Records. They inked a deal with Elefant Records for their sophomore release, the similarly warm, kaleidoscopic, and steampunk-driven Long Way Home, in 2013. ~ James Christopher Monger
