Acerca de Breitbild
Breitbild are a Swiss rap group that rose to Top Ten success with their third album, As Isch Nid Immer Alles Crazy (2008). They're affiliated with the Bauers, a collective of Swiss rappers that also includes Sektion Kuchikäschtli, Luut & Tüütli, and X-Chaibä. Founded in 1999 in Chur, Graubünden, Switzerland, by DJ Jäger and rappers Phlegma, Vali, Thom Krause, and Hyphen, Breitbild made their recording debut in 2002 with the four-track EP Statischt on Schrägstrich, the boutique label of fellow Bauer affiliate rapper Gimma. Subsequently signed to the independent label 08eins Records, Breitbild released their full-length album debut, Narrafreiheit, in 2004 and saw it reach the Swiss albums chart, peaking modestly at number 71 and spawning the popular singles "Gimmer as Mic" and "Lüüt." Featuring music by the hip-hop band Toshman & Rabbit (Sam, guitar; Dschii, piano; Monk, drums; Fippo, bass; Cutmium, turntables), Breitbild's second album, Legenda (2006), proved much more successful, entering the albums chart at number 13 and spawning the popular singles "Für 1 Hets Immer No Glangt" and "Richtig." Again featuring music by Toshman & Rabbit, Breitbild's third album, As Isch Nid Immer Alles Crazy (2008), led by the single "Mach Si Stolz," continued to mark their increasing popularity, entering the albums chart at number eight. ~ Jason Birchmeier
