The Rotations
Acerca de The Rotations
The Rotations were an obscure Cleveland, OH, group who debuted on Debrossard Records with the infectious but poorly promoted "I Can't Find Her" in 1970. They began gigging in Ohio and Pennsylvania and were rediscovered in Harrisburg, PA, by a club-owner who also headed Soulsville Productions. Soulsville leased a finish single to Law-Ton Records in New York, but "If I Could Be Like Columbus" b/w "Don't Ever Hurt Me" in 1971 didn't crack an egg. Nothing else surfaced for the group led by Sonny Thompson, who also featured Bobby Star (who led "Don't Ever Hurt Me"); the other members are unknown. It's possible that they cut other singles, two on Frantic Records are often attributed to them, but nobody seems to know for sure. Producer/songwriter Manny Campbell referred to the teens as "voracious party animals who may not be still around 'cause they lived life so hard." ~ Andrew Hamilton
