Acerca de RH+
Rock Hudson, also known as RH+, are a Chilean electro-pop band whose music incorporates key aspects of both indie electronica and indie pop. Comparisons have been drawn to Air and Stereolab as well as Broken Social Scene and Belle & Sebastian. Founded in 2000 in Santiago, Chile, the band was initially named the Most Urban before changing its billing to Rock Hudson in 2003. The moniker RH+ was later employed primarily for the North American market. The group is comprised of Ximena Muñoz (aka Nera; vocals), Fernando Lasalvia (vocals, rhythm guitar, bass, keyboards), Pedro Comparini (drums, keyboards, vocals, turntables), Sebastian Vazquez (lead guitar), and Jorge Manieu (bass). In collaboration with producer Gabriel Vigliensoni, Rock Hudson made their full-length recording debut in 2004 with El Elela. Following a round of international touring in support of the album, including an award-winning performance at the Diesel U Music Festival in Milan, Italy, the band was offered a recording contract with the Chilean label La Oreja, which reissued El Elela in 2005. The label subsequently released Rock Hudson's second album, Quintana Roo (2006), which was produced once again by Vigliensoni, plus DJ Bitman. A few years later, Quintana Roo was licensed for international release by the American label Nacional Records in 2009. ~ Jason Birchmeier
