Pop-oriented R&B vocalist Miesa has been involved in the entertainment industry on some level since childhood, going back to performances at pageants and talent shows. Her father, a musician, encouraged her interest in a wide variety of music, but as a recording artist she has gravitated toward heartfelt contemporary R&B and pop. After Miesa signed to the Capitol-affiliated Siri Music Group, she started with a handful of singles released from 2013 through 2016, including "Antidote," "Nope (Can't Let Go)," "Too Bad for You," and "Sway (I Miss You)." Two of the tracks were remixed for club play. In early 2017, while her debut album was in the works, she issued another single, "Overdrive." ~ Andy Kellman
