Puerto Rican-Cuban pop star Mariah Angeliq, who fuses reggaetón, R&B, and Latin trap in her music, was named a Billboard Latin Artist on the Rise at age 20.
∙ Mariah was discovered at age 16 by notable reggaetón producer Nely “El Arma Secreta” (Daddy Yankee, Snoop Dogg), who helped her land a major-label record deal in 2018. ∙ Her breakout hit, 2019’s double-platinum “Perreito,” charted in 16 countries and garnered more than 400 million combined streams across all digital platforms. ∙ During the 2020 awards season, she was nominated for Lo Nuestro’s Revelation Female Artist and for Premios Juventud’s The New Generation – Female. ∙ In 2020, she appeared on the collaborative hit single “Ciclone,” which featured multi-Platinum producers Takagi & Ketra, Italian pop singer Elodie, and legendary flamenco group Gipsy Kings. ∙ She released her debut EP, Normal, in 2020, including the hit single “Taxi” with Puerto Rican rapper Guaynaa.
