Acerca de Maelyn Jarmon
An American singer with a background in musical theater and a controlled, emotive delivery, Maelyn Jarmon broke through by winning The Voice in mid-2019. Her Season 16 Collection marked her debut on the Billboard 200.

A native of Frisco, Texas, Jarmon became deaf in one ear and was left with hearing loss in the other following surgery to prevent recurring ear infections as a toddler. Largely inspired by the positive reaction of others to her singing ability as a child — particularly those with hearing impairments — she began regular voice lessons at age 13 and was heavily involved in musical theater throughout her teens. When she was 17, she and her family moved to New York City so she could pursue work on Broadway, though she eventually decided to focus on a career as a solo recording artist.

At the age of 26, Jarmon competed on the 16th season of The Voice, which aired in the first half of 2019. In the earlier rounds, she performed, among others, songs made famous by Adele, Coldplay, and Maggie Rogers for the judging panel of Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton. On the live finale, she sang the original song "Wait for You" as well as Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable" (a duet with Legend) and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" on her way to a first-place finish. After the finale aired in May 2019, Jarmon's edition of The Voice: The Complete Season 16 Collection (Republic Records) debuted at number 176 on the Billboard 200, and she topped the Emerging Artists chart.
