Luther Wright & the Wrongs began life as Wright’s mid-‘90s side project to his day job as guitarist for underappreciated Canadian indie rockers Weeping Tile. When the latter band dissolved in 1999, Wright became more serious about his rambling bluegrass collective. However, it was a fanciful conceit in 2002, a full-length re-invention of Pink Floyd’s 1980 classic, THE WALL, titled REBUILD THE WALL, which ginned up a surprise level of international interest in the outfit. Despite that whimsical record and the punny name, Luther Wright & the Wrongs retain a serious veneer and a respectful spot in the evolution of the century-old bluegrass tradition.
