New Jersey

The New Jersey-based punk quartet of Lanemeyer began in late 1997 with the lineup of Chris Barker (vocals/guitar), Mike Doyle (vocals/bass), Casey Morgan (guitar), and Sean Smith (drums). Resulting in an aggressive pop-punk sound, their first self-released EP, Stories from the Big Screen, came out in 1999 before the band signed to the Washington, D.C.-based Too Hep Records. The following year, Lanemeyer released their first full-length, If There's a Will, There's Still Nothing. But things didn't last long, since the band subsequently announced its dissolution in 2001. Members went on to play in several groups, including Day at the Fair and Arcade Academy; Lanemeyer briefly reunited in late 2005 for a handful of local shows. ~ Mike DaRonco
