The pride of Iloilo, Jed Madela is a phenomenal countertenor who has represented the Philippines at a string of international talent contests, including the coveted World Championship of the Performing Arts in 2005 where he belted his way to the grand prize and a spot in its hall of fame—a first for a Filipino artist. Since his debut in 2003, Madela’s albums include the certified gold Only Human (2008) and the pop-driven Superhero (2019), with its forays into modern flavours as in the hit “Never Bring Me Down”. Madela, who also mentors new artists, is bound to influence to the next generation of Pinoy performers.
