Acerca de Coffin Carousel
Horror punk ghouls Coffin Carousel injected their Melbourne scene with chunky riffs, bashing drums, and a spook show aesthetic influenced by the Misfits, Rob Zombie, and Rammstein. Conceived in 2012 by frontman Howard Von Noise, Coffin Carousel wouldn't launch until 2014, when Von Noise's former group, Diamond Noir, went on hiatus. That year, the group -- which also included Alex Stitcher on guitar, Tim Le Spooks on drums, and Sunny Horrors on bass -- issued their debut single, "Sinister." The "Doom Pop" single arrived in 2015, followed soon after by the four-song Predators EP and the six-song Fiend EP. A trio of songs -- "The Strange" and "Bat Shit Crazy" b/w "Toxic Candy" -- was issued in 2016. At the start of the next year, Von Noise and the band released Live in Fiend City, a live collection featuring eight of their previously released songs. That summer, they signed with American label Eclipse Records and began promotion for the full-length Between Death & Dead. Mixed by Neil Kernon (Queensrÿche, Cannibal Corpse) and mastered by Alan Douches (Misfits, Motörhead), the album arrived just in time for Halloween 2017. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
