Bankstatement was a one-time side project for Genesis keyboard player Tony Banks, who wanted to create a more pop-oriented piece than he had on his previous solo albums. To that end, he assembled some talented session musicians and two unknown vocalists in early 1989. The album sold moderately in the U.K. but went unnoticed in the States, much to Banks' dismay. ~ Steve McMullen
