Acerca de Last Conservative
Initially calling themselves the Conservatives, this Buffalo group formed in 1997 and performed in and around the Buffalo area. After releasing several cassettes and EPs in early 1998, Last Conservative released their first single, "Cardboard Soul," on the Mary's Lounge Records compilation MLR-1. This was followed in early 1999 with the second single, "Don't Touch Me," which garnered much airplay on Buffalo and college radio stations. The band's fan base slowly grew as comparisons to Counting Crows and Our Lady Peace did not hurt the group. In 1999, the band released their first album, Unremarkable. This was followed by more touring both in the United States and Canada, including a showcase performance at the North by Northeast Festival. After a three-song EP, My Old Self, was released in early 2001, the band returned to the studio with producers and engineers who had worked with another Buffalo group, Goo Goo Dolls. In 2002, These In-Between Times was released on LC Music Group. Last Conservative has opened for Ours, Nickelback, and Gigolo Aunts, as well as sharing the stage with Jimmy Eat World, Cold, and Sum 41, among others. The band followed up These In-Between Times two years later with On to the Next One, which was produced by Robby Takac (Goo Goo Dolls) and issued on Good Charamel. Pretty New Things then appeared in August 2006. ~ Jason MacNeil
