Acerca de Kinesis
The UK punk pop quartet from Bolton, Lancashire Kinesis was formed in September 2000 when Michael Bromley (b. 30 September 1983; vocals/guitar), Conor McGloin (b. 14 December 1984; guitar), Tom Marshall (b. 14 April 1983; bass) and Neil Chow (b. 28 June 1984; drums) met up at a rehearsal studio to see what transpired. Their five-track demo recording soon began circulating under the name of The Flowers Are Dead, despite the fact that the band never intended the recording to be issued to the masses (supposedly, only 10 copies were pressed at the time). Growing stronger as a band (and on their respective instruments) with each passing day, Kinesis entered the studio shortly thereafter to record what they originally planned to be another five-track demo. After a creative spurt ensued, the recording (2001s Worship Yourself) was pushed to eight tracks in total. Issued by the White Noise label, the bands second EP earned a few plays on BBC Radio 1s Evening Session, but live gigs were limited strictly to weekends and holidays, as half of the band still attended school at the time. However, the summer of 2002 saw the band free of all confines, and after signing a publishing contract, they landed their first national tour, opening for Biffy Clyro and Hell Is For Heroes. Soon after, Kinesis signed with the Independiente label. Further key supporting slots resulted (including the Manic Street Preachers at the Brixton Academy in December 2002). Kinesis gained good reviews for their debut, Handshakes For Bullets, released in September 2003.
